More Info
The Duke Blue Devils Cheerleaders are very dedicated to their school and their community. When not attending a game, it is not uncommon to see the Duke Cheerleader at a charity event or instructor clinic throughout the year. The primary purpose of the Duke University Cheerleading squad is to promote school spirit at Duke athletic events and to bring a sense of kinship within the student body. Although the Duke Cheerleaders do not compete, the time commitment is intense.
The Duke Cheerleaders are made up of two teams, which are the Blue squad and the White squad. The Blue squad is responsible for cheering for home and away football games, along with the men’s basketball games. The White squad also cheers at home football games, along with women’s basketball. Both the Duke Cheerleading squads consist of twelve members. Each member must be well rounded in the art of dance, cheer, tumbling and jumping.
At each game, the Duke Cheerleaders have a tradition of doing a pushup whenever their team scores. The Duke University Cheerleading squads have an outstanding coach who constantly pushes them to succeed both in cheerleading and in their studies. The Duke Cheerleaders are outstanding to watch so check out a Duke University athletic game to see the Blue Devil Cheerleaders in action.
