Cooper Helfet started off his college career at Johns Hopkins University on a lacrosse scholarship then switching to football at Santa Rosa Junior College before eventually landing a spot on the Duke Football team. With the Blue Devils, Helfet received honorable mention All-ACC selection and played in 11 games, missing one due to injury. Cooper Helfet finished his first season with the Blue Devils fourth on the team. Helfet also earned two-time ACC Player of the Week selection and was ranked first in receiving yardage and second in receptions among all ACC tight ends.
