Wallace Wade Stadium is named in honor of a former Duke University football coach who was with the team in the 1930s.  Under Coach Wade's leadership, the team was not scored upon in an entire season in 1938.  To honor Coach Wade, the stadium was dedicated in his honor in 1967.  Formerly, the stadium (built in 1929) had been called "Duke Stadium". 

Wallace Wade Stadium is located on Frank Bassett Drive on the Duke University campus in Durham, North Carolina.  The surface is grass and the stadium holds almost 34,000 spectators.  Although its primary purpose is to host Duke Blue Devils football games and track and field events, the Wallace Wade Stadium has also been the site of some great concerts.  The Rolling Stones performed in the Wallace Wade Stadium in 2005 and Jimmy Buffett held his concert on the field in 2008.
